Welome!
Welcome friends! Thanks for stopping in to get to know us a little better. Many of you know us personally, but for those who have "met" us on the web, here's a little insight into who the Sisters behind "$uper $aving $isters" are:
Meet Sister C -
Sister C, aka Carrie, is the original Super Saving Sister. She and her true "sisters" started this blog to help others save money and find great deals. I'm sure she will write her own bio soon, but until then, I thought I (Sister K) would give you a few tidbits so you can get to know us a little better. I met Sister C in 2004, when her oldest and our youngest were born. We occasionally ran into each other, and then re-connected via Facebook in 2010. I was intrigued by her money saving posts and started following her blog and Facebook page. Since then, she has taught me sooo much about how to get the best deals on just about everything. She's an amazing bargain hunter! You will learn a lot if you stick with her!
Meet Sister K -
Hi! I'm Katie, more commonly known around the blog as "Sister K." I am a recent convert to couponing. I started seeing Sister C's Facebook posts about how she was saving money and using coupons late in 2010 and was very intrigued. I spent quite a few hours online learning the ins and outs of "this coupon thing." I started using coupons "extremely" in January of 2011 and am charging full speed ahead. I love the thrill of saving money and scouting out all the best deals. I also enjoy having a full pantry and "stockpile" of all our basic needs.
My family has also seen the benefits of my couponing. My husband of 17 years is enjoying the impact my saving is having on our household budget. We're now working toward a goal of being debt free (minus the mortgage) by Spring 2012. My children (ages 13, 10 & 7) have varying opinions about shopping with me. My younger 2 are my coupon scouts, always on the lookout for coupons as we shop. They both love the coupon machine at CVS and are the ones I celebrate with when I score a fantastic deal. My oldest is less exuberant, but is a bargain shopper in her own way.
I'm very thankful that Sister C invited me to be part of $uper $aving $isters. I'm loving the fact that I can post and blog about my savings and great deals. It's been a great adventure so far and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
