Taystee Bakery Outlet Run

So, I (Sister C) decided to make a run for bread today down at the Taystee Bakery Outlet on 169 as we were completely out of bread - kiddos had to pack a lunch today with no bread.  Oops.

Anyways, I think I might be heading down there on a Monday or Tuesday from now on!  The bread we like was only 50c!!!

Their hours, by the way, are M-F 830-6pm and Saturdays 830-5pm.

I got all of this for under $8 - 4 loaves of bread, a bag of mini bagels, hot dog buns, hamburger buns, donus (all gone already lol) and juice boxes that V drank all in one sitting.  I'd break it down, but I have no idea where my receipt went.  I'm just thankful I found my camera lol

CVS Run

On Sunday, Sister C made a run up to CVS to use up the $4/$20 purchase I was emailed.  So here is what I grabbed...

1 gallon whole milk $3.49
1 Aussie Shampoo $3.99
5 Kodak 4x6 prints - not pictured $1.25
1 Hershey's Dark Chocolate $1.19
1 Listerine $2.99
4 Purex $1.99 each
1Skintimate Shave Gel $1.99
1 Dove Dark Chocolate 79c
1 Hershey's Air Delight 99c

Used...
  • $4/$20 coupon from email
  • $10 EBC
  • B1 Hershey's Air Delight G1 Hershey's Bar FREE
  • FREE Dove Chocolate Bar from MCS
  • $1 off Skintimate
  • $1 off Skintaimate CVS coupon
  • FREE Aussie product (Facebook NLA)
Total $2.87 + tax
Received 99c ECB (Hershey's) + $1 ECB (Listerine)

I also noticed my beauty bucks are at $42.06 - so I bought WAY more in beauty products last week when I received that $10 ECB :D  Less than $8 to go to get another $5 ECB(Beauty)!

Do you stock pile gifts?

I have to confess that I do NOT stock pile gifts.  I know I should have a drawer or closet where I keep things to use for unexpected kid's party invites and such, but I don't.  If you do, or if you are already working on stocking up for future birthdays or Christmas, check HERE for some great coupons on Hasbro games.  I'm planning to take the Connect 4 one to Target to get the travel size game for $0.97.  I'd like to say I'll keep it until Christmas for my son, but to be truthful, I don't think I can make it that long before I give it to him.

Hey, Mom! What's for Dinner?

What's on your plate for dinner tonight?

Not sure what to cook? Head on over to your Mankato Applebee's for $5 burgers, wings and pitchers of beer! No where near Mankato, head on over HERE to get the number to the Applebee's nearest to you, and give them a call to see what their specials are tonight.

Menu Plan Monday

Last week I was going to try some new recipes.  I only got one made, but I really enjoyed it.  Two of the kids took one look and chose peanut butter, one kid liked it and hubby wrinkled his nose but ate one serving to be polite.  The one I got done was Hummus Bruschetta with Mediterranean Salad.  It's a cold salad on warm toast.  Here's a picture:

Again, I really liked it, but it's probably something I'll have to halve for the future or make when my Mom comes to visit.  This week I'm sticking to things a little less adventurous.  :o)

Sunday:  Grilling and bonfire with friends.  We brought fruit and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Monday:  Italian Zucchini in slow cooker

Tuesday: Chili with Corn Bread

Wednesday:  Scrambled Eggs, Toast and maybe Sausages

Thursday:  Vegetable Stir Fry with Rice

Friday:  Spinach and Chicken Pasta with Raw Veggies

You'll notice I don't put Saturday on my menu and I only have one meal a day planned.  My kids are old enough to get their own breakfast and I keep plenty of cereal or bagels or waffles on hand.  We are all at work or school during the day Monday - Friday.  We also tend to eat whatever is in the frig for Saturdays and Sunday lunches.  Occasionally I'll come up with something, but it's not usually planned.  Right now, this plan works for us.

What's on your menu this week?

100% Savings at CVS

I didn't have time to shop much last week, so I decided to hit CVS late on Saturday and take advantage of the ad overlap that happens at the end of the week.  I got 24 items and only paid the tax of $2.32.  I also came home with $7 in ECBs for next time.  It was my best shopping trip to date, made even more significant because I added one item not on my list and I had all three kids with me to help celebrate once we got back to the van.  (I actually cheered out loud in excitement once we closed the doors!)   Here's what we bought:

6 Chex Mix @ $1.00 each
2 All Free & Clear detergent @ $3.99 each
2 Pantene Shampoo @ 2/$6.97
4 Starburst @ 2/$3.00
2 Skittles @ 2/$3.00
1 RevitaLens Solution @ $8.99
1 Carefree Liner @ $1.00
2 Air Delight @ $0.99 each
2 Skintimate Shave Cream @ $1.99 each
2 Suave Deodorant @ $0.99 each
1 Jr Pretzel and Cheese Snack @ $1.00
Total before tax, coupons and ECBs = $79.26

I used:
1 x $10/$50 purchase CVS coupon from the coupon scanner that had expired 8/17 but was still honored
6 x $0.50/1 printable coupons for the Chex Mix
2 x $1.00/1 coupon for the All detergent from the 8/28/2011 RP Insert (exp 10/9/2011)
2 x FREE Pantene coupons I got from doing Couponing to Disney's 5 A Day
3 x B1G1 Starburst coupons from the CVS coupon machine
3 x $1/1 Starburst or Skittles printable (no longer available)
1 x $3.00/1 Revita Lens from the 8/28/2011 SS Insert (exp 10/3/2011)
1 x $0.50/1 Carefree coupon from the 8/21/2011 SS Insert (exp 10/31/2011)
1 x B1G1 Hershey's Chocolate Bars 8/28/2011 SS Insert (exp 10/9/2011)
2 x $1/1 Skintimate Shave Cream printable CVS coupon
2 x $1/1 Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave 7/24/2011 SS Insert (exp 9/10/2011)
2 x $0.75/1 Suave Deodorant 8/14/2011 RP Insert (exp 9/11/2011)
1 x $8.00 ECB from a previous trip
1 x $3.00 ECB from a previous trip
1 x $1.00 ECB from a previous trip, which adjusted down to $0.41 because I had already reached $0.  If I had realized this, I would have saved it for a future purchase since I got less than half it's value.
(There was also a $2.51 "CVS Mfr Coupon" on my receipt that I can't figure out, but I'll glady take the extra savings)

Subtotal = $0.00
Tax = $2.32
ECBs earned for a future trip = $6.99
$4 for the Revita Lens
$1 for the Pantene (making it a $1 money maker)
$1 for the Carefree liners (making it a $0.50 money maker)
$0.99 for the Air Delight
